FAQ – New swimmers: Babies to Pre-schoolers

What is baby swimming?

Infant and toddler swimming involves introducing little ones to the water alongside an adult. Our lessons are designed to make the swimming experience enjoyable by incorporating engaging play activities and songs. Participants will discover techniques for holding and supporting their babies, encouraging the stimulation of natural swimming reflexes in a secure and entertaining environment.

  • We can accomodate to child at least 4 weeks old.

  • Your baby is still fine to attend as the NHS guidelines dictate.

  • Guardians can wear whatever they desire as long as this is appropriate swimwear.

  • We require all children who are not 100% accident free to a Happy Nappy. We recommend that this is worn with a normal disposable nappy underneath.

    These can be purchased from Saint Moon - our trusted supplier.

  • Yes, absolutely, the pool is 4ft 6 inch and you can still walk around with your baby.

  • We teach submersions here at Bobbin Babes but we DO NOT force anyone to do anything they do not wish to do. It's your class, go at your own pace!

  • Although we allow one other spectator of your child, we only permit one person into the water with your child.

  • We recommend you arrive 10 minutes before to allow for ample time to change before entering the water.

    We also ask you do not arrive any earlier than this to not cause a blockage with parking.

  • We recommend that you give at least one hour in between feeding and swimming.

  • This is at your discretion but we advise to not attend as to not spread this to other children.

  • Once this happens, we will recommend that you progress to our older children classes.

  • Please register on our website and follow the instructions.

  • Unfortunately we cannot offer catch up lessons due to high demand for pool time.

  • Once you have secured your space for the term that will be your timeslot going forward. We do not have the ability to amend the time slot whilst the term is running. Once the booking in begins for the next term you may be able to change time slots then.

  • Yes, we close for:

    2 weeks for Easter

    3 weeks for Summer

    3 weeks for Christmas

  • After the first term you will be offered the ability to maintain your space or have priority booking for another time slot.

  • unfortunately we not currently offer the facility to pay for your class by direct debit. You can only secure your space by paying the full amount upfont.

  • No, you do not need to register an attending guardian with us, as long as a responsible adult is with the child this can change week by week.

    You are able to bring one spectator but we do insist on one car per party due to parking.
